The Voice Centre of the ENT Department of the Bufalini” Hospital in Cesena is one of the most important centres for the diagnosis and the treatment of voice and swallow disorders. The clinical-instrumental diagnosis is performed with the most up-to-date fiberoptic endoscopes and stroboscopic light sources. Voice therapy is based upon individual and collective rehabilitation sessions. Phonosurgery makes use of all the techniques that are currently performed in the best international voice centres: laryngeal microsurgery with “cold” instrumentation and CO2 laser, thyroplasty, fiberendoscopic phonosurgery, phonatory valves. Surgical interventions for the rehabilitation of dysphagia with fiberendoscopic or microlaryngoscopic techniques are also performed. In addition to the treatment of benign lesions of the vocal folds and of mono and bilateral paralysis of the vocal folds, we perform the most advanced oncological laryngeal surgery with CO2 laser, as well as subtotal reconstructive laryngectomy. Twice a year the voice center organizes courses on phonosurgery and voice therapy at the Bufalini Hospital in Ceseba, with live surgery and an international faculty. These courses are attended by doctors and speech therapists from all over the world.
